Overview
Founded in 2008 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by the Tobacco Reporter magazine (which was then named the Global Tobacco Networking Forum), the organization is an industry-backed summit organized for multinational corporations, government representatives, and major investors. David O’Reilly of British American Tobacco (BAT) was the co-founder and first chair of the advisor board.
In 2019, the Tobacco Merchants Association (TMA) acquired the event to be managed by the newly created GTNF Trust. In 2025, TMA rebranded to the Nicotine Resource Consoritum (NRC).
