Overview

Led by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the National Prevention Week (NPW) is an annual substance use prevention campaign held in the second week of May, as studies show a spike in first-time drug use around June and July. The campaign gives educators and community leaders an opportunity to educate students before they go off on summer break.
