Overview
Case management is a process in many social work fields that involves a trained case manager evaluating a client and facilitating their connection to health, social, and legal services.
In treatment centers, it’s typical for a patient to be assigned a therapist, a psychiatrist, and a case manager as three independent members of their care team. While therapists can deliver cognitive behavioral interventions and psychiatrists can deliver medications, case managers can help individuals address needs like housing, documentation, employment, peer support, and other aspects of recovery capital.
