Overview

“Dissocation-informed” is a relatively recent term that describes medical care and guidelines that fully consider the way dissociation can present itself. “Trauma-informed” is a related concept about updating models of treatment that overlooked the long-term impacts of trauma on the mind and body. Since dissociation is a common outcome of trauma (PTSD even has a specific Dissociative Subtype in the DSM-5-TR), it might be fair to say that being dissociation-informed falls under the umbrella of being properly trauma-informed.
